Bakersfield, CA (May 28, 2024) – A bicyclist was killed in a crash that took place in Bakersfield on Saturday, May 25. The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. on Chester Avenue at the intersection with McCord Avenue.
According to a report from the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle struck a 63-year-old bicyclist. The male rider suffered critical injuries and was rushed to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day. Authorities say that the man was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet driven by a 28-year-old man. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured in the accident. None of the involved parties have been identified at this time. The crash is under investigation.
