Fatal Car Accidents in California
Each year, more than 10% of all reported fatal accidents nationwide take place in California. This translates into approximately 3,000 reported fatalities every year. Many of these victims are affected by crashes that are not their fault. Negligent drivers are primarily responsible for serious and fatal collisions in California. This includes speeding, careless driving, distraction, and impairment.
If you have lost a loved one due a fatal collision, you could be entitled to compensation. Under California law, a wrongful death claim may be filed under certain circumstances. The law is complicated, however, and should only be handled by a skilled and experienced California wrongful death lawyer. Many victims make the mistake of trying to handle their own claims or going with an inexperienced law firm. This can result in the loss of your legal rights or an inadequate settlement.
