Winchester, CA (June 25, 2024) – One person was killed and others were injured after a two-car crash in Winchester on Sunday, June 23. The accident happened around 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of California Avenue and Simpson Road.
Police say that 51-year-old Kimberly Higgins was a front-seat passenger in a Chevrolet Cruze that was driven by a 53-year-old man. A 13-year-old girl was also an occupant of the vehicle. When the Cruze arrived at the intersection, it was broadsided by a Jeep Wrangler driven by a 17-year-old boy. Higgins was killed in the crash, while the Cruze driver and 13-year-old girl suffered major injuries and were taken to a local hospital. The Jeep driver sustained minor injuries. Police are continuing to investigate the crash at this time and have not said if any charges will be filed. More details will be revealed as the inquiry progresses.
