Malibu, CA (July 6, 2024) – A deadly head-on crash was reported in Malibu on Thursday evening, July 4. The crash happened just after 10:00 p.m. in the 22000 block of the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH).
Officials say that a 2019 Mercedes Benz was traveling eastbound on the PCH when the driver crossed the center median and struck a 2020 Cadillac SUV head on. The driver of the Cadillac was seriously injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Cadillac, along with the Mercedes driver, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The road was closed for several hours while police investigated the incident. There is no word on what caused the Mercedes to travel left of center at this time. No one involved has been identified, and the collision remains under investigation by local law enforcement officials.
