Pedestrian Accidents in California

Because of the vastness and volume of traffic on the state’s highways, these accidents are a major cause for worry. Every day, there are millions of cars on the road, which contributes to the increased danger of accidents. Those who are engaged in these occurrences often suffer significant injuries, mental distress, and financial problems as a consequence of the incidents. Both the incidence and severity of automobile accidents are influenced by a number of factors, including driver irresponsibility, excessive speeding, distracted driving, and roadway conditions that are poorly maintained.

If you were jaywalking, you are still able to seek damages under the comparative negligence statute of California; however, your compensation will be reduced based on the amount of responsibility that you contributed to the accident. The amount of fault that you are accountable for might result in a reduction of fifty percent of the total amount.

The statute of limitations for injury suits in the state of California is two years. It is imperative that you register your claim for personal injury before the allotted period has passed; otherwise, you will forfeit the opportunity to do so. There are a few exceptions to this rule, such as using the date that you found the injury; nevertheless, in general, you will be required to remain inside the two-year term.
