Los Angeles, CA – Injury Building Fire at Dusk Motel on 7051 W Sunset Blvd

Los Angeles, CA (December 6, 2024) – An injury-building fire occurred yesterday at the Dusk Motel, located at 7051 W Sunset Blvd, leaving a 60-year-old man with second-degree burns. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported the incident at approximately 5:23 p.m. when a 911 call was received reporting a fire on the third floor of the building. Authorities confirmed the fire started due to a scooter on the third floor. Despite firefighting efforts, the fire burned significantly, creating heavy smoke that complicated efforts to extinguish it completely.

Firefighters set up a command post across the street and launched offensive operations to control the fire. By 5:29 p.m., rescue teams arrived on the scene and began coordinating efforts on the roof and in hallways to manage the smoke and ensure the safety of those in the building. The injured man was assessed by rescue teams and later transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Traffic authorities were on the scene, rerouting traffic to allow first responders to work. The fire was eventually brought under control, but the motel suffered significant damage on the third floor.

We hope for a swift recovery for those injured.
