Brentwood, CA – Fatal Crash on Santa Monica FWY

Brentwood, CA (March 21, 2025) – A fatal crash occurred early Friday morning on the northbound Santa Monica (405) Freeway near the Skirball Center Dr exit in Brentwood. The multi-vehicle collision, involving a black four-door sedan, a blue Toyota Rav, a gold Toyota Corolla, and a gray Toyota, led to one fatality, as confirmed by California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers.

CHP Officer Sergio Garcia reported that emergency services were dispatched at approximately 3:18 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a chaotic scene with multiple vehicles involved in the crash. The victim, whose identity, age, and gender have not yet been disclosed, was pronounced dead at the scene. Eyewitnesses reported that the victim was ejected from one of the vehicles during the collision.

Firefighters worked to extricate the vehicles from the scene, while paramedics transported one injured party to the hospital. Traffic in the area was significantly impacted as CHP issued a SigAlert, closing three lanes of the northbound freeway for at least two hours while they conducted an investigation into the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities are working to identify all individuals involved.
