Santa Clara Co, CA (March 14, 2025) – A fatal crash occurred early Friday morning, March 14, in Santa Clara County, claiming the life of a 41-year-old woman from San Jose. The incident took place at approximately 3:55 a.m. on southbound Interstate 880 at the Tasman Drive off-ramp in Milpitas.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision began when two cars collided initially, with one of them striking a tire that had been left on the roadway. This led to subsequent crashes involving additional vehicles, exacerbating the scene.

Emergency responders, including ambulances and the fire department, quickly arrived on the scene to control the situation. Paramedics transported the injured to nearby hospitals, while the fire department assisted in extracting the vehicles from the crash site. The investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing, with authorities yet to determine whether drugs or alcohol played a role. The identity of the deceased woman has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Traffic on I-880 was impacted as the authorities worked to clear the wreckage and restore flow. Motorists were advised to avoid the area as the investigation continued.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.
