Long Beach, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-405 to I-710 Transition Rd

Long Beach, CA (June 25, 2025) – A man was hit and killed by two vehicles on the northbound San Diego (405) Fwy transition to the southbound Long Beach (710) Fwy last Tuesday.

The crash happened at around 8:54 p.m. on June 24. Authorities say 40-year-old Kurtis Haynes was walking on the transition road when he was struck by two vehicles. The exact reason Haynes was in the roadway is not yet known.

Emergency teams responded quickly, but Haynes was pronounced dead at the scene.

Both drivers involved stopped at the crash site and are said to be cooperating with the California Highway Patrol as they continue their investigation.
