Los Angeles, CA – Injuries in Two-Vehicle Crash at E 27th St

Los Angeles, CA (August 20, 2024) – A two-vehicle collision occurred this evening at the 702 block of East 27th Street in the Central City neighborhood of Los Angeles. The incident, reported at approximately 5:08 p.m., prompted an immediate response from local firefighters and emergency personnel.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found two vehicles in the middle of the street, both heavily damaged. One of the vehicles had a visibly crushed front end, while the other had lost its left wheel due to the impact. A woman, who appeared to be in shock, was seated on the sidewalk near the scene. She seemed disoriented by the accident and was being attended to by bystanders.

One of the drivers remained inside their vehicle, while another woman, who had been driving the second car, was outside her vehicle, struggling with her movements. Firefighters quickly assessed the situation, including checking the second vehicle, where the airbags had deployed. Due to the severity of the collision, East 27th Street was temporarily closed to ensure the safety of all involved and to allow emergency services to operate effectively. Injured victims were transported to area hospitals for further care and examination.

Witnesses to the accident provided statements to the authorities as the investigation continued. Local law enforcement authorities are still inquiring on the circumstances leading to the crash.

We hope everyone harmed by this accident recovers swiftly and completely.
