Huntington Beach, CA (March 8, 2024) – A teenage bicyclist was killed in a collision that happened early Thursday morning in Huntington Beach. The crash took place around 6:15 a.m. on Talbert Avenue.
According to officers on the scene, an 18-year-old was riding a bicycle in the bicycle lane of Talbert Avenue when they were hit by a 2016 Kia Sorrento driven by a 26-year-old man from Fullerton. The bicyclist was thrown into the road and suffered critical injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. The Kia driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No one involved in the accident has been identified. Anyone with information on the accident is asked to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s office. An investigation is ongoing at this time. There is no further information available.
