How Are Injuries Sorted Out After a Multi-Vehicle Crash in Boyle Heights, CA?
When a crash involves several people with different injuries, California law treats each injured person’s claim separately, even if they were all hurt in the same collision.
Some injuries can require very different treatment timelines, and medical documentation tends to become the backbone of each person’s claim. Many injuries sometimes take days to fully reveal their severity, which is part of why early medical evaluation matters even for a patient who seemed stable at the scene.
California follows a pure comparative negligence rule, which basically means that each driver’s share of fault is calculated as a percentage, and an injured person can still recover damages even if they were partly responsible.
A personal injury lawyer can be useful here in making sure each injured person’s share of any settlement reflects their actual injuries rather than getting lumped together with everyone else in the vehicle.
