Los Angeles, CA (August 26, 2026) – A 45-year-old man died early on Tuesday morning, August 25, after a vehicle struck him at San Pedro Street and East 20th Street in Los Angeles’ Historic South-Central neighborhood.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the crash occurred shortly before 3 a.m. Officers found the pedestrian unresponsive in the roadway, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver left the scene following the accident, and investigators are searching for them. Authorities have not disclosed the description of the vehicle involved.
San Pedro Street was closed between Washington Boulevard and 21st Street while investigators examined the area. The investigation remains active as authorities work to identify the driver.
