Los Angeles, CA – Injury Multi-Vehicle Crash on Atlantic Ave and Myrrh St

Los Angeles, CA (September 22, 2024) – On the evening of September 21, a significant multi-vehicle collision was reported at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Myrrh Street, causing substantial traffic disruption and alarming many local residents. The incident occurred at approximately 9:56 PM and involved at least four vehicles, some of which sustained serious damage.

According to initial reports, the collision was triggered when a red SUV ran a red light, leading to a chaotic chain reaction involving multiple vehicles. A white car, identified as having front-end damage, was seen blocking part of the street, with smoke emitting from the engine. Witnesses reported that despite the considerable damage to several vehicles, the white car appeared to be the least damaged of all. However, debris from the crash, including broken auto parts, was scattered across the roadway, further complicating the situation for passing traffic.

One of the most distressing aspects of the crash was the behavior of one of the drivers, who reportedly fled the scene immediately following the collision. Meanwhile, other motorists and passengers remained at the location, visibly shaken by the events. One young woman, described as wearing a blue jacket, appeared to be in shock. While the ambulance had not yet arrived, her companion was seen running away from the scene, leaving many bystanders concerned for their safety.

Emergency services were eventually dispatched to the location, as injuries were reported among those involved in the crash. One individual suffered a leg injury, necessitating medical attention and an ambulance. Health personnel were seen tending to another woman who had to be transported from the scene on a stretcher.

Among the damaged vehicles, a dark-colored SUV was noted to have deployed its airbags, which appeared to have traces of blood. Fortunately, no one remained inside the vehicle at the time of observation. In addition, a black Jeep was found with a badly dented rear end, while a red car, which had been significantly damaged, had its left front tire completely detached from the vehicle. Scattered cans of Pacifico beer were discovered at the scene, although it remains unclear if alcohol played a role in the collision.

We hope all the injured individuals make a timely recovery.
