Santa Monica, CA – Injury Multi-Car Crash on I-10 W & Pacific Coast Hwy

Santa Monica, CA (January 7, 2025) – An injury multi-car crash occurred on January 7 at approximately 12:30 p.m., near the intersection of Interstate 10 West and Pacific Coast Highway, causing significant disruptions in the Downtown/Third Street Promenade area. Emergency responders were dispatched following a 911 report of the incident.  

According to Santa Monica Police Department officials, the crash involved several cars, resulting in significant injuries to at least one person. Firefighters worked to extricate individuals trapped in their vehicles while paramedics provided immediate medical attention and transported the injured to a nearby hospital. Authorities temporarily closed portions of the roadway to clear the scene and manage traffic flow.  

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and law enforcement is encouraging witnesses to provide additional information to help them understand the circumstances leading to the crash.
