Los Angeles, CA – Injury Crash on Arlington Ave & 47th St

Los  Angeles, CA (April  23, 2025) – An injury car crash occurred on Arlington Ave near 47th St in the predawn hours, sending at least one victim to the hospital and snarling traffic in South Los Angeles. Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) and Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) units rushed to 4611 Arlington Ave, just south of W 47th St, after multiple 9‑1‑1 calls reported a two‑vehicle wreck at about 3:11 a.m.

First responders found both vehicles blocking the southbound lanes. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to free a trapped driver, who was then transported by ambulance to California Hospital Medical Ctr with serious injuries. A second motorist sustained moderate harm and was treated on scene before being taken to a nearby trauma facility for further evaluation. Officers closed Arlington Ave between 46th Pl and 48th St for nearly two hours while they documented evidence, directed detours, and arranged for tow‑truck removal of the damaged cars.

Preliminary LAPD statements indicate that one driver may have run a red light, but the investigation remains active.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families as they navigate the road to recovery.

If you are hurt in a traffic accident, acting quickly is essential. California gives victims two years to file a claim, yet critical evidence can vanish within days. Even if you share some fault, you can still recover compensation under the state’s pure comparative‑negligence rule. Damages may cover medical costs, lost income, and pain and suffering, and most personal‑injury lawyers work on contingency—meaning no upfront fees unless they win your case.
