Playa Del Rey, CA – Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Vista Del Mar Ln Near Culver Blvd

Playa del Rey, CA (May 3, 2026) – A deadly hit-and-run crash on Sunday morning, May 3, left two people dead, including a young child, in Playa del Rey.

Police said the accident happened around 4:34 a.m. on Vista del Mar Lane near Culver Boulevard. A southbound vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and struck another car head-on, leading to a serious collision involving four people.

One man died at the scene from his injuries. Paramedics rushed three others to the hospital, where a 1-year-old child later died. A woman suffered critical injuries while being transported, and another man was taken in for treatment, though his condition was not confirmed.

Authorities said the driver responsible for the crash was in a white Jeep and fled the scene on foot, heading north on Vista del Mar Lane. Officers have not located the driver.

Investigators are still working to determine what led to the crash.
