Inland Empire, CA (November 11, 2025) – Two people lost their lives following a tragic crash on Monday, November 10, on the 60 Freeway in Jurupa Valley.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 4:50 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the 60 Fwy, just west of Country Village Rd. Officials reported that a black Honda Civic traveling eastbound veered off the roadway and went down an embankment, crashing into a parked truck in a nearby industrial area off Wabash Drive.
Authorities said the vehicle carried a female driver and a male passenger, both in their forties. The impact of the crash caused the male passenger to be ejected from the vehicle and land in the freeway’s eastbound lanes. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver continued off the freeway, where her car came to rest near a box truck in a business parking lot. She was also pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash prompted a SigAlert, and all but one lane of the freeway was temporarily closed while crews cleared the scene. Traffic slowly resumed after 7:30 a.m.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the driver to lose control. The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash.
We extend our sincere wishes for recovery to those affected by this tragic event.
Fatal Car Accidents in Jurupa Valley
Fatal car crashes are an unfortunate reality on California’s busy freeways, especially in areas like Jurupa Valley that see heavy commuter traffic. Many of these crashes are caused by driver fatigue, speeding, distraction, or impaired driving. Even a momentary lapse in attention
In 2023, the California Office of Traffic Safety reported thousands of fatal crashes statewide, with many occurring on major freeways such as the 60 and 91. The Inland Empire region, which includes Jurupa Valley, experiences a high rate of deadly accidents due to its growing population and extensive highway network. Victims and their families often face overwhelming emotional and financial burdens in the aftermath of such tragedies.
When a crash leads to a fatality, surviving family members may have the right to file a wrongful death claim. This legal action can help recover damages for medical expenses, funeral costs, loss of income, and emotional suffering. While no amount of money can replace a loved one, compensation can provide vital financial stability during an incredibly difficult time.
An experienced car accident attorney can also help determine whether negligence played a role in the crash. In cases involving unclear causes—like loss of control or vehicle defects—lawyers can work with accident reconstruction experts to uncover what truly happened. They can also manage communication with insurance companies, ensuring families are not pressured into accepting unfair settlements.
