Los Angeles, CA (July 19, 2025) – Earlier this morning, a vehicle crashed into a crowd in East Hollywood, leaving at least 30 injured. The collision happened on July 19, at around 2:00 a.m., near Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue outside The Vermont nightclub.
Authorities reported that one woman in her 20s suffered critical leg injuries and remains in critical condition. Another 23 people were transported to nearby hospitals with various injuries. Multiple other individuals received care at the scene, according to police reports.
The Los Angeles Police Department stated the crash followed a disturbance inside a nearby business. After being removed, the suspect allegedly drove into the crowd outside the nightclub.
Witnesses said the driver was pulled from the vehicle by bystanders after the crash. People then physically assaulted him, and during this altercation, a male suspect shot the driver. Officials confirmed the shooter fled on foot and has not been located.
The LAPD described the shooter as a Hispanic male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 180 pounds. He was reportedly wearing a blue jersey and possibly had a silver revolver.
The driver underwent emergency surgery and will face charges for assault with a deadly weapon. The police continue investigating the motive behind this violent act.
Investigators are working to learn more about the crash and the people involved. We send our best wishes for recovery to all those injured in this terrible event.
