Los Angeles, CA – Teen Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-10 Fwy at La Brea Ave

Los Angeles, CA (December 4, 2025) – A four-vehicle crash on the eastbound Santa Monica (10) Freeway claimed the life of a 19-year-old man early Wednesday, December 3. County officials identified the victim as Nathaniel Brown.

The California Highway Patrol officers responded at 1:56 a.m. to the eastbound lanes near the La Brea Ave exit. When officers arrived, they found a silver Honda Civic and a dark Infiniti in the middle lanes after a violent impact. Two other vehicles involved in the crash were located on the right shoulder soon after the first report.

A nearby resident told CHP that an initial collision had happened moments before another vehicle struck one of the involved cars. Responders worked to assess injuries and secure the scene. Despite their efforts, Brown died from the crash.

The CHP issued a Sigalert and closed all eastbound lanes while emergency crews investigated. The agency reopened the freeway around 6:35 a.m. as the response wrapped up. Officials have not released further details about what caused the chain-reaction crash. The investigation remains active, and more information may follow.

We send our sincere wishes for recovery to anyone injured in this incident.

Fatal Car Accidents in Los Angeles

Fatal crashes are a serious concern in Los Angeles, especially along major routes like the Santa Monica Freeway. Heavy traffic, fast speeds, and late-night driving create conditions where even one mistake can lead to deadly results. Each year, California reports thousands of fatal roadway incidents, many tied to speeding, impaired driving, or distracted driving. When several vehicles collide, the risk of severe injuries or death becomes even higher.

Multi-vehicle crashes often happen when drivers have little time to react. One crash can lead to another in seconds, especially on busy freeways. These events make it harder for investigators to identify what happened first and who may be responsible. Victims’ families often struggle with sudden loss and overwhelming questions, including how the crash occurred and what legal steps they can take.

In Los Angeles, congested freeways add another layer of danger. Drivers may change lanes quickly or follow too closely. When traffic is heavy, any sudden stop or impact can cause a chain reaction. Weather, construction zones, and late-night fatigue also contribute to the risk. Even responsible drivers can be hurt when someone else makes a reckless decision.

Families dealing with a fatal crash may face financial strain from funeral costs, medical bills, and lost income. A car accident lawyer can help by reviewing crash reports, speaking with witnesses, and working with experts to understand how the crash happened. Legal support can also help families recover compensation for their losses, including emotional suffering and long-term financial harm.

If someone survives a serious freeway crash, they may face months of medical care. A lawyer can assist with insurance claims, negotiate for fair compensation, and ensure victims are not pressured into quick settlements. Legal guidance is especially important in multi-vehicle crashes, where several drivers and insurance companies may be involved.
