What Damages Can Families Recover After A Fatal Accident In Los Angeles, CA?
Families may recover funeral expenses, medical bills, lost income, and other financial losses after a fatal crash in Los Angeles. They may also seek damages for the loss of care, guidance, and companionship. Available damages depend on the facts and who may legally file.
After a sudden loss, expenses can grow before a family has time to process what happened. Funeral and burial costs may create immediate pressure, especially when medical bills are also involved. Lost income can make things harder when the person helped support the household.
Crashes on Interstate 110 can be especially serious because drivers often travel at freeway speeds through busy parts of Los Angeles. Near West Slauson Avenue and Vernon Avenue, traffic can change quickly. A wrong-way driver in that area can leave others little time to react.
Once investigators complete their review, they may examine vehicle positions, witness statements, roadway evidence, and official reports. These details can help explain how the wrong-way driver entered the freeway. They may also help establish liability for the fatal collision.
Even when the fault seems clear, families may still face delays, insurance questions, and uncertainty. A car accident lawyer can explain available damages, help protect key evidence, and handle communication with insurance companies on your family’s behalf.
