Los Angeles, CA (August 15, 2026) – One person lost their life, and at least two others sustained injuries on Saturday morning, August 15, following a two-vehicle collision on the Golden State (5) Freeway in the Los Feliz area. California Highway Patrol officers and emergency personnel were dispatched to the northbound lanes near the Los Feliz Blvd off-ramp at approximately 8:25 a.m.
Upon arrival, fire and rescue crews located two damaged vehicles, a black sedan and a gray van, blocking the roadway. Firefighters performed an extrication operation to free three individuals who were trapped inside one of the vehicles involved.
Emergency medical services evaluated the victims at the scene, but one individual succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased. At least two other patients were treated by medical personnel and transported to local trauma centers for further treatment.
California Highway Patrol officers are continuing to look into the factors that led to the fatal collision.
