What Happens When a Vehicle Crashes Into a Business in Huntington Beach, CA?
When a vehicle crashes into a business, determining responsibility may require looking beyond the actions of the driver. Evidence from the parking lot, building, vehicle, and surrounding area can help establish what happened. Surveillance footage from the salon or neighboring businesses may be particularly useful when the circumstances of the vehicle’s movements are unclear.
The condition of the property can also become relevant. Building inspections, photographs, repair estimates, and records documenting structural damage may help establish the consequences of a vehicle striking a commercial property. For an injured person, medical records can document the injuries and treatment that followed the incident.
California generally allows people injured because of another person’s negligence to seek compensation for damages caused by the incident. Depending on the circumstances, recoverable losses can include medical expenses, lost income, and other damages associated with an injury. The specific facts of the incident will determine whether a claim is available and what damages may apply.
In these cases, the guidance of a Huntigton Beach personal injury lawyer can become very useful. A lawyer can investigate the incident, review available surveillance footage and other evidence, communicate with insurance companies, and evaluate the resulting injuries and losses.
