After an accident, ensure safety, call 911, seek medical attention, and document the scene. Victims may be eligible for compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, and pain and suffering. In California, personal injury claims must generally be filed within two years. While not mandatory, hiring an attorney can help navigate insurance claims and ensure fair compensation. If the at-fault driver is uninsured, victims may rely on their own insurance coverage.
