The Dangers of Head-On Collisions in Palmdale, CA

Head-on collisions usually result from when a vehicle crosses into oncoming traffic, whether due to a mechanical failure, distraction, or a driver falling asleep at the wheel.

Injuries from head-on impacts tend to be more severe than other crash types, and it can include chest trauma, fractures, and head injuries from the force of two vehicles meeting directly. Recovery can involve extended hospital stays and follow-up care that continues long after the initial treatment.

Because head-on crashes frequently involve disputed accounts of which driver crossed the center line, a car accident lawyer can be valuable in obtaining traffic camera footage, vehicle damage patterns, and witness statements before that evidence disappears.

California’s pure comparative negligence rule also allows an injured person to recover damages even if they’re found partially at fault, with any award reduced accordingly.
