Freeway Accidents in Los Angeles
Los Angeles is known for its heavy traffic and dense network of freeways. Unfortunately, this makes serious crashes—especially on major roads like the 405 Fwy—an all-too-common occurrence. Accidents involving semi-trucks and multiple vehicles often result in more severe injuries due to the size and weight of the vehicles involved.
In freeway accidents, the forces of impact can be intense, and injuries like broken bones, head trauma, or even amputations can occur. Victims often face a long road to recovery, both physically and financially. The cost of emergency medical care, surgery, and rehabilitation can be overwhelming.
One of the biggest challenges in a freeway collision is figuring out who is at fault. Was the driver speeding or distracted? Did a commercial truck driver violate safety regulations? Personal injury lawyers can step in to investigate these questions, working with accident reconstruction specialists and reviewing traffic camera footage or witness reports.
In many cases, a victim may be entitled to compensation for medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering. Trucking companies may also be held liable if their drivers were negligent or violated federal trucking laws. Insurance companies may try to offer low settlements, but a skilled attorney can negotiate for a more appropriate amount based on the true extent of the injuries and damages.
California law allows injured victims to file personal injury claims even if they were partially at fault for the crash. A local lawyer can explain your rights and help determine the best course of action based on your unique situation.
