Irwindale, CA – Bicyclist Killed in Crash on Arrow Hwy

Irwindale, CA (July 10, 2024) – A bicyclist was killed in a crash that happened in Irwindale on Tuesday night, July 9th. The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Arrow Highway and Riverdale Road.

The Irwindale Police Department responded to reports of the accident. According to officials, the driver involved had stolen a Land Rover from a Toyota dealership and drove away in the stolen vehicle before striking the bicyclist. The victim, identified as 50-year-old Raul Castaneda, died at the crash scene. The driver fled the scene but was arrested a short time later. He is now facing several charges in connection with the collision. Police closed the road while they cleared the scene and conducted an investigation. No additional information is available at this time.
