North Hollywood, CA – Ten Injured in Transit Van Crash on 170 Fwy Near Sherman Way

North Hollywood, CA (April 14, 2026) – Ten people, including eight children, were hurt in a van crash on a San Fernando Valley freeway on Monday, April 13. The accident happened around 2:15 p.m. along the southbound 170 Freeway near Sherman Way.

The Los Angeles Police Department said the crash involved a single transit van traveling on the freeway. The vehicle came to rest facing the wrong direction near the center median after the incident.

Emergency units arrived and found multiple injured passengers, many of them children. Paramedics assisted victims at the scene and transported all ten patients to nearby hospitals for further care.

Authorities reported that all injured individuals were in fair condition. Crews worked to manage the scene as several lanes were closed during the response.

Officials have not confirmed what caused the crash. Investigators continue to review whether road conditions or other factors played a role in the collision.

We extend our thoughts to those injured and wish them a smooth and swift recovery.

Who is Liable if a Child is Hurt in a Crash in Los Angeles?

Liability in a Los Angeles car accident involving a child depends on who caused the accident and the specific circumstances. In many cases, the at-fault driver or another responsible party may be held accountable for the child’s injuries.

When children are involved in an accident, several factors can affect how liability is determined. These may include driver actions, road conditions, and whether proper safety measures were in place. In some cases, responsibility may extend to a vehicle owner, employer, or another party connected to the crash.

Injury accidents involving children can lead to a wide range of medical needs. Some injuries may require immediate care, while others may develop over time. Medical evaluations help identify these issues early and create records that support ongoing treatment and recovery.

A car accident lawyer can review the details of a crash and explain how liability may apply. This may include examining reports, medical records, and insurance policies. Legal guidance can help families understand what options may be available and how claims may proceed.
