Los Angeles, CA (March 28, 2024) – Police in the Jefferson Park neighborhood were dispatched to the scene of a deadly crash involving a pedestrian on Thursday, March 28th. The crash took place in the 2800 block of Arlington Avenue just before noon.

According to officials, a BMW ran a red light at the intersection and collided with several cars and a UPS truck while also striking two pedestrians who were crossing the road. The UPS truck veered off the road and came to rest in the yard of a nearby home. The BMW suffered substantial damage, including having its roof completely ripped off in the collision. The two pedestrians died at the scene from their injuries. The BMW driver tried to flee the crash but was arrested a short time later. The identities of the pedestrians have not been released. The accident remains under investigation. There is no further information available.
