DUI Accidents in Culver City
Driving under the influence remains one of the leading causes of serious and fatal crashes across California. In cities like Culver City, where roads are often busy and residential neighborhoods are closely packed, impaired driving can have especially devastating outcomes.
DUI accidents occur when a driver operates a vehicle while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or a combination of substances. Even at low speeds, these collisions can result in lasting injuries, emotional trauma, and costly medical care. Victims of DUI crashes may suffer broken bones, head trauma, or internal injuries that require long-term treatment. In some cases, these incidents lead to permanent disability.
California law allows victims of DUI crashes to pursue compensation through a personal injury claim. This may cover medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more. If a criminal charge is also filed against the driver, the outcome of that case may support the victim’s civil claim for damages.
However, victims should not wait to take legal action. Evidence in DUI cases can disappear quickly, and witness statements may fade with time. A car accident lawyer can help gather police reports, hospital records, and eyewitness testimony to build a strong case.
In addition to pursuing compensation, victims may also benefit from legal representation during the driver’s criminal proceedings. An experienced attorney can coordinate with law enforcement and prosecutors to protect the victim’s rights and ensure their voice is heard.
